YES YES YES
in Australia seedling growers grow a silly tastless plant they call oregano.
God knows where they get the seed from but it tastes like grass.
There must be an awful lot of meals ruined by it
We grow two types of Oregano.
One I believe is a wild form grown in lebanon.
It has a fabulous flavour and is a vigorous hardy plant.
Another is similar but has golden leaves, not quite as stron in flacvour
but avery pretty groundcover in asunny well drained spot.
I wouldnt even try to botanically classify them.
Happy to send pics if you want.
I have given up dreaming about having Ditany of Crete which I don't think
is in Australia.
and some of the hairyer types of Oregano would not survive our summer humidty.
