Sorry...I wasn't clear. My friend who gave me the plant thought the plant
is a relative of New Zealand flax (Phormium), which was incorrect.

Wow! I think I'm glad that isn't what I got, though it sounds beautiful. I
don't have the room for a plant that size, unfortunately. Are the flowers
the same size as the smaller Aristeas?

Good to know...they seem to seed freely for my friend, as he gave me a good
sized seedling with a number of smaller sprouts around it. He's down in
Southern California, however, so I'll have to see how it does up here.
