The Journal of Arboriculture had an Illinois study of mycorrhiza +
fertilizer that was very provocative--about 15 months ago, I think.
I went to a lecture by Dr. Donald Marx last year on this subject. He's
been a leading mycorrhiza researcher for many years. Now he's involved in
a commercial venture to sell a VAM + fertilizer product. He told me he
thought it would outsell 'Miracle Gro', the leading consumer fertilizer
product in the US. A nexus search under his name would likely yield much
work on this subject.
I think I also read something within the past year in The Journal of
Environmental Horticulture.
And, lastly, there's a great organization here in the Bay Area called
BIRC, the Bio-Integral Research Center. They publish two journals that
summarize IPM research. They had a cover story on the same Illinois
research reported in the JOA along with some other research. (Their
bibliographies are usually a tremendous source of info.) I think I still
have that issue or I can send you any necessary details on how to reach
them.
