Hi,
To whoever asked about climbing hydrangea, I have felt timid about
answering, but we have a nice one, blooming now, in almost full shade.
However, it is seven or eight years old, and slept for three years before
doing any creeping, and waited a year or two more before blooming, and
thankfully is only about 9 feet tall and 4 feet wide. We'll doubtless have to
prune later, but haven't done much yet. Worth a try, needs some summer water,
bears our somewhat alkaline soil and water well.
