An interesting choice. Our authorities here are currently applying strict
new laws as regards alien invaders. They calculate 10% of the country is now
covered with them & it must be halted.
>From your list, the Agaves, the Opuntia & the Schinus molle are banned & all
Nerium oleander must be immediately ripped out. Climate appropriate plants
have their flip sides. Isn't the Montbretia a major weed in Australia ?
I was travelling down the N1 today & theres about 20km going North from
Capetown where the Oleander is used as a median planting. Full grown & in
full flower - its going to be quite a job.
Personally I never did like them at any rate. And as somebody pointed out,
about plants and their associations, another of my pet hates is roses. I
can't see one without thinking of crematoriums.
