seeding into wild: acacia

I noticed a house with a high screen all around it of mimosa in
bloom, and mimosa that had evidently self-sown from that garden
throughout the nearby redwoods of a national park in Northern
California. They wouldn't get enough light deep in the forest, but
they were certainly happy on the edge.

Diane Whitehead, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada where mimosa is
lucky to survive in a warm corner, and would never set seed.
