Doh! I was mad at it . Hopefully I won't have to wait another year- I only pruned it to 4' and its growing like crazy. My bad. Should've posted here first!

Oops!? Why do you prune it? It flowers at the growing point and along
the leaf nodes for a short distance back. Flowering time is usually late
winter with the first warm days and into spring. Can be variable from
seed as far as flower maturity is concerned.

Thanks Trevor, I'll give it another year then. Mine is in full sun with very well drained soil .I give it a top dressing of compost about twice a year as the leaves lose their rich greeness without it. . When does it

bloom?- I just pruned it back.
