Linda:

How dry is your soil when you remove the pot?  Moisture will help retain the
sand.  I trust this will not make separating from the wall more difficult.

Even with plants in ProMix and other peat mixtures, it is hard to keep the
soil in one piece if the roots haven't penetrated the whole soil mix and the
attempt is made on a dry pot.
