Hello Mario
Sea daffodil are very easy to cultivate in pots. I'm in a border
Mediterranean Zone 8 with too much Water in summer, so I have to keep some
of my bulbs in pots. Seeds if fresh will germinate quickly in 2-3 weeks (2
cm deep) in a well-drained compost (I use sand and volcanic grit based
compost). I give no summer dormiance for the first 2 years but kept more on
the dry site. After the second year the mix is dry from June to mid-august,
when the flower or leafs appear and in the winter there is regular moisture
and temperatures as low as -5ƒC. During the vegetative period I give just a
little bit organic manure (tomatos type with K). Sea daffodils can be
transplanted during summer dormancy and planted 5-10 cm deep. I had 2 times
problems with pests: Weevils and another pest (I found just the tunnels in
the bulbs).

-----Messaggio originale-----
Have collected some sea daffodil seeds, which I would like to grow in pots.
Would greatly appreciate advice and comments, e.g. how much space do they
need, how deep should soil be, when to sow, can they be transplanted, etc.
Thanks,
Mario.
