Hi Nan,
It would seem that you are single handedly keeping
this forum going, where is everyone else? I don't
know your answer about the Anisodontea, I don't grow
any of them myself, but have you checked the web site
for San Marcos Growers?
On a different note, I wonder if anyone saw some of my
work in the November 2006 issue of Sunset Magazine?
It can be seen online at:
www.sunset.com, and look for the article under
gardens, A Garden Retreat. You can see more pictures
if you click on "A Tour of the garden"
Also, this same garden got a little television time,
go to:
http://cbs5.com/video/?id=17722@kpix.dayport.com.
Not really a garden of mediterannean plants, as it
combines drought tolerant succulents and South
Africans with abit of this and that from Mexico,
Brazil, Australia/New Zealand; using subtropicals and
bromeliads. Just an example of a moderate water use
garden in a small urban space in a mild winter,
coastal northern California climate. I hope you enjoy
it.
Also, next spring, my design for the SF Bromeliad
Society will be featured at the San Francisco Flower
and Garden Show as one of the main feature display
gardens, featuring what else?, outdoor hardy
bromeliads for northern California gardens, with abit
of a Balinese theme as well. There will also be a few
succulents snuck in the design...
Saludos,
David Feix
