kiwi berries

Speaking of seeds...I wonder if anyone has tried to grow kiwi berries (Actinidia arguta) from seed? I don't like the regular kiwi fruit, but I finally tried the small, green, smooth kiwi berries from the grocery store the other day and now I want to grow them. Are the cultivars radically better than what I might get from seed? Or is it worth trying the seed to see what I get?
