We saw this interesting type of wall at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County during the MGS Annual Meeting a few weeks ago.  Lots of interesting plants placed within the gaps of the stonework.  Very artistic/dramatic, even when the plantings were semi-dormant, keeping the landscape interesting during this rest period.
