I too have just planted a fig tree in my new garden. It is "Brown
Turkey". I planted it in a narrow bed between walk and fence with the
idea of espaliering it to fit there. I've had such good luck with
espaliering pears, I was encouraged to try it.
Now, I'm wondering, is this a mistake? Has anyone on the list espaliered
a fig? How about old "Brown Turkey? is it too big for this treatment?
Should I yank it out while the yanking can be done and look for a
smaller tree? White Genoa?
Does anyone practice espaliering? And is a fig done in the same way as
my pears? Any help/ opinions will be much appreciated. Jan
