To those Medit-Plants persons living in the northern reaches
of the San Francisco Bay Region (Sonoma County):
The Marshall Olbrich Plant Club, which has met every 3rd Wednesday
night on odd numbered months, is in search of a new meeting place.
Their current site in the Sebastapol/Santa Rosa area is no longer
available. The group is rather small (about 50 people total), but
they have hosted some very fine talks over time. Those interested
in joining, or in helping the MOPC find a new place to meet, should
call Barbara Barton at 1(707)829-9189, or write her at tusker@crl.com
or P. O. Box 1338, Sebastopol, CA 95473. Without a new meeting place,
they may have to end their groups activities.
Barbara Barton was the original creator of 'Gardening by Mail', an
entensive list of mail order resources for gardeners, and she is
involved with The California Garden and Landscape History Society.
She has also been a member of the Medit-Plants forum.
Marshall Olbrich, with Lester Hawkins, was the creator of Western
Hills Nursery in Occidental, now run by Maggie Wych, which remains on
of the favorite destinations for those looking for plants rare and
unusual.
So, if you can help out this interesting group, please don't hesitate
to contact Barbara.
Thanks,
Sean O.
