Hello from Santa Cruz, California-
Yesterday's Monterey Bay California Rare Fruit Growers meeting at the UCSC
Arboretum included a fig tasting and a talk and slide show by Todd Kennedy
who has grown dozens of figs. He discussed growing conditions and a number
of pruning techniques for the trees and the pros and cons of fruit
production, flavor and consistency.
Todd is a veritable fountain of knowledge about figs and seemed very
amenable to answering the many questions asked. If you are contemplating
planting a fig tree you might want to contact him through the MBCRFG at
