I searched my catalogues (including Redwood Seed Co) but couldn't come up
with a source of pepino. I did find *Solanum quitoense*, described as
'Golden Fruit of the Andes; a sweet-fruited Solanum; 5' bushes; huge
leaves; 2" orange fruits; long season, OG Ecuador from Deep Diversity, a
seed company in Sante Fe, New Mexico, USA.
They also list *Solanum burbankii* which they say 'had unfortunate karma
{for Burbank} with this release which accrued immense publicity hype and
then demise as it turned out to be too close to common nightshade weeds for
gardeners to believe it to be a new or worthwhile kind.' Poor Luther.
And, to completely beat a dead horse, they list *Solanum sp.*, aka
Akuojura, a fruit popular with Australian Bushmen.
