re: Lavandula stoechas ssp lusitanica

<<Dear Medit-Plant folks,
I recently came across a plant labeled Lavandula stoechas ssp.
Lusitanica. I cannot find a reference to the plant and am wondering if
anyone in the Medit-Plants group has any information on such a creature.
Thanks,
Ernie>>
All I have on this is that, unlike L. stoechas, the flower spike is shorter
than the stalk and is found on acid soils in Portugal. However, I know
there are some cultivars around with much longer than 'normal' coloured
bracts at the top.
