Hi Helene,
I missed your first posting on this. That's why my reaction may be a little
late.
White seedlings is a very common thing when they are the offspring of a
single plant. The phenomena is called 'inteelt' in Dutch and could pherhaps
be translated with: inbreeding. The seedlings are albino's , they miss the
capability to produce chlorophyl. This is a genetic defect caused by the
breeding with only one parent.
I have seen it more often in Ferula.
The white seedlings usually wither and die.

Albinism could pherhaps be caused by other things but in this case
inbreeding seems the most logic explanation to me.
The albino's are affected by normal sunlight, it burns and finally kills them.
