Re: chicken terror

We've kept chickens for 25 years; when I lived in the city (Santa Monica,
CA), I was known as the "Chicken Lady". When we moved to the country, we
expanded our flock to 50 or so, plus 75 guinea hens (better than TV
anytime!), ducks and geese. We planted a 16 acre vineyard and I used to
stand at my kitchen sink and watch the red-tailed hawks swoop down a row of
grapevines, snatch up a chicken, and fly off, never slowing for a moment.
Amazing. Hard to lose the chicken, but that's real life...and the hawks are
awesome...
