Thanks for the info Moira, sounds as though it is only a candidate for
the more southerly parts of the UK then.  C. banksii is just on the
borderline in Britain, although locally it appears to do reasonably
well.

I've tracked 'Red Fountain' down to Tasmania where I understand a
couple of nurseries stock it.  The agent who exports to the UK has
told me that insufficient quantities are available for it to be
offered to garden centres here, but he will bring me a plant on his
next trip to the UK - hopefully next spring.  He's bringing me both
Freycinetia multiflora and stenophylla as well so I'm eagerly awaiting
his return.
