Re Dave Poole's comments about this baby's hardiness levels and
possible suitability only for the more southern parts of the UK:
seed-grown plants survived here, in the far north of Cumbria, unharmed
by the double-figure week-long freeze of 95/96 (which killed C.
indivisa stone-dead). I confess to my shame my 'records' (ha) don't
show where the seed came from. I just wondered if this might be a
species of particularly variable hardiness, depending on provenance?
Comments, anyone?
Tim
moist mild Solway coast, winter min c. -3C, but no winter at all yet
and in fact spring flowers (primulas, meconopsis), summer flowers
(roses, poppies, some buddleias), autumn flowers (hedychium,
tricyrtis, colquhounia) and winter flowers (correa, ercilla, acacia)
all in flower at once: no wonder I and they get confused about
hardiness....
