Hi Carol and all,
There's a good book about the inside passage between Vancouver Island and
the mainland-'The Curve of Time, the classic memoir of a woman and her
children who explored the coastal waters of the pacific northwest', by M.
Wylie Blanchet; first pub. in England in 1961 and by Seal Press in Seattle
in 1993. The descriptions are of the area in the 1930s, and of the
challenges of navigation in this part of the world. The book has been
known for years in the Vancouver/Seattle region and is just now appearing
in the San Francisco Bay Area reading groups.
