Hi John,
Thank you for your most helpful reply. I do have the old Sunset Western
Garden book. I'm not new to gardening, just new to medit-type gardening.
I actually used to have a small business in the East Bay, then later in
Marin. It was called "Good Women Gardening". (Oh, sweet nostalgia
flash) This was a long time ago. I've been an RN for the last 12
years, so it was before that. Which means there's a lot of new plants,
or newly discovered plants, and theories about gardening styles.
Having said all that, I am a novice to the kinds of plants you guys talk
about, a lot of the discussion goes right over my head.
I know, I know, more information than you needed today. ;-)
I have looked at some of the sites you mentioned, but now I'm going
to just ask the group. I bought a plant called STOKESIA, "jella tellito".
It has beautiful blue flowers, and longish sword type leaves. It has no
info on it, and the nursery folks didn't know it either. It could be an
annual for all I know, although it doesn't look like it. It has the usuall
sun-part shade icon it. Which is usually meaningless, IMHO. It sort of
resembles SCABIOSA, only the leaves are quite different. So, I haven't
planted it, and I'd like to.
Any thoughts, good people?
Thanks in advance
