Plant people

Stuck up here in the frozen North, one sometimes feels isolated at the
far end of the known universe, only "knowing" other enthusiasts through
their e-mails. It is therefore a unique experience for us Brits to
actually meet a real person, though probably nothing special at all to
all you wildly-sociable, madly-partying Californians. so at the risk of
boring you all rigid, I have to say that I visited Alessandra's Academy
garden in Rome last week and it is absolutely beautiful, all the dark
evergreens coolly contrasted against the hot blue Roman sky which one
would expect in an Italian garden but with Alessandra's personal stamp
of flowering plants, vivid against the sombre greenery to breathe life
into it all. Definitely a highlight of my trip to Rome. Thanks
Alessandra
