Well, my grandfather DESPISED gardenias, because he
worked in a mortuary as a teen and it reminded him of
embalming, death, and corpses. They were used to cover
up the "mortuary" scent. So it's all how you view it.

Anyway, i find plants that stink, or look odd
fascinating because of the ingenuity of their
evolution. It's fascinating to me that these plants
would develop smells that smell like other things
which happen to be the things flies and carrion
beetles love, as well as flower colors that even
resemble rotting meat.

Sure, roses are pretty, but they are rather hum drum
to me. I'd pick an Amorphophallus over a rose any day.
(And actually, my garden contains plants that most
people around here *arent* growing)
