Well, i'll share a little something. My cannas are
still blooming even though we've had rather cool
temperatures (cool enough to require a light jacket).
Seems that they don't mind the weather too much.
I also tore out the old gravel stream bed, and
replaced it with actual cobbles. I saved the gravel
and sifted all the sand out of it and then reused it
to fill in around the cobbles for a more natural look.
It's pretty incredible looking to me.
I also have had success with one of the Caesalpinia
decapetala seeds that Alessandra had sent out a LONG
time ago. It's already got two longish leaves (about
three inches long). I thought it was going to perish,
but it struggled on and it looks like it's finally
happy. I'll have to find a spot sometime later where
it can be it's thorny self and not cause too much
trouble (although some roses look to be even spiner
and people keep those out front).
Finally, i knew winter had pretty mucha rrived (early)
when i went out onto the porch a few minutes ago,
breathed out and saw the vapor form. Yay frost. Now i
can see my bananas (M. sikkimensis)look like they were
torched :).
