Re: Climbers for fence??

Maria,

In Alameda, California, I use Aristolochia californica as a fence
climber in sun and shade. Years ago, I was visiting Cuevas de la Pileta
near Ronda, and recognized an Aristolochia, perhaps A. sempervirens,
there. According to Polunin and Huxley, Flowers of the Mediterranean,
it prefers hedges and shady places. I remember it climbing on the
rocks, perhaps it would do just as well on the fence.
