That temperature range is why they're so popular in
San Francisco, where 2/3 of the year has temps
70F/50F, and, barring frost, B. 'Charles Grimaldi'
blooms in cycles virtually throughout the year.
Sometimes I even get tired of that plant, as
enchanting as it is, but by the time it's ready to
bloom again, I'm ready to appreciate. I suppose if I
lived in a warmer climate I might tire even of
Gardenia sometimes, but here that's a rare treat.
