Re: transplanting yacon?

Hi Tanya,
I've moved yacon twice, but a little later in the year, after the tops fell
down. It was more like dividing. Harvested all the tubers and divided the
crowns and gave a bunch away. My yacon hasn't bloomed yet either, but it
already has new buds forming on the crowns. If yours are similar, I don't
see why you couldn't dig them now and pot up the crowns or move them to
another garden. Your plant sounds small enough that you could move the whole
thing (heavy, tho!). I think the worst that would happen is that you'd lose
the tops for this year. They'd be back in the spring. It's a pretty tough
plant.
