Or if, for some reason, you do not wish to do this, an alternative is to post to the List saying that you have "X" photos and if anyone would like to see them (or thinks they can help you identify something, or whatever), then to say so and you will send the photos to those persons only.Putting pictures on the web is really the best way of doing it for most mail lists. That way Digest subscribers are also able to view them. Also, those subscribers who have no interest don't have to waste any time on them. Websites like <http://www.phanfare.com/> and <http://www.photosite.com/> make it easy.
I have done this several times on another list (that does not permit attachments at all).
