Of course in a mediterranean climate they don't develop many trunks. (The advantage here is that we never have to prune them except to get rid of dead or touching branches.) As for the taste--that's a challenge! I personally have never had a particularly tasty fig grown in a moderate climate. Probably the extra moisture dilutes the taste.... Where can I get one, in Europe? Fig-trees are notoriously easy to propagate during winter.... just stick a stick in the ground.
