I actually have one of these, it's slow as molasses for me, so I'm considering replacing it with something a little faster and more native (like say, a manzanita variety). Anyway, my impression is that if it is indeed an Agonis, it really should be in full sun. I've also read that these are not small trees and seem to get fairly hefty trunks as well.
