[medit-plants] first Lemon Tree planted in California?

I recently received an inquiry via a website I am redeveloping and I thought it might be of interest to this group, and some of you might know something in relation to it topic.  If so, please respond to the group or contact me directly.

"Does the Society have information available on the first Lemon Tree planted in California by the Spaniards on the Tajiguas Ranch in Santa Barbara County? During the early 1970's, the site of the original tree was fenced on the ranch and a State Horticultural Placard was installed on the site. The Lemon tree then growing was a shoot of the original, long dead. I have the original tree trunk given me by the then owner. I have photographs of the site in my photograph collection, but I have no idea where the photographs are located in my extensive collection at this time. I do have the trunk I removed and intend to make memorable items from the wood if I last long enough for this project."
