Yes Tim... looks like a really good spring here too. My flag iris are the
best ever... perhaps after their rest last year as a result of the hail. As
my cistus come out one by one my thoughts turn to my trip to Greece and
those hillsides in the Pelloponese covered in white cistus. No severe late
frosts so my roses look like being very good too. My Ionensis crab apple
is spectacular, as are all the others in the town of Armidale.
Thunderstorms are starting to roll in in the afternoons... just praying for
no hail this year... many of the local houses have only just had their
roofs repaired after last year's catastrophe, and my garden is still
showing the effects.
As with all good seasons the snakes are thriving. Found an extremely
venemous brown snake in my garden last weekend. With little grandchildren
visiting it is a worry, but they seem to keep out of our way (the snakes I
mean!).
