Brian, it is very lovely and a good idea to show the world but how about
there being a sprig or a flower from everywhere except Tasmania! At
the moment the Tasmanian Laurel tree is in bloom [lily-of-the-valley
like flowers] not to mention our State emblem the Tasmanian Blue Gum
[wonderful blue-green foliage, used by our florists all the time] and
the reason given for not using the Gum leaves was that overseas athletes
will only recognise the long green leaves as being Gum trees. I
suppose they think athletes have no sense of smell
That is not to mention [as it is off subject] that they left Tasmania
off the medallion with map of Australia presented for carrying the
torch.
I am so cross about the bouquet!!!! Gay
