On redwoods..... there is a very old one quite hear here (Monterey) down
in Big Sur. I remember i went with some co-workers (it was an educational
trip) and we went to what was supposedly the biggest (around at least)
redwood in Monterey County.......with the ten of us we could barely hold
hands and encircle the trunk (I was about 18 then.....we were all teens).
It also looked as if there was a whole other tree half way up that had
grown into this tree.
