Patti do your search using the latin name
"Adenostoma fasciculatum"
make sure you include the quotation marks.
I found plenty of sites with lots of information.
Specifically this may be what you need
"Plants may be propagated in flats from seed sown in winter or spring.
Seeds should be soaked in 10 percent sulfuric acid for 15 minutes
prior to sowing. Within 4 to 6 months, seedlings usually reach heights
of 2 inches (5 cm) and can be transplanted to pots. Most seedlings are
ready for field planting after approximately 1 year in the pot stage.
Plants may also be propagated from green wood cuttings taken in
the spring."
