I +must+ pass along the list of (Pasadena) deer resistant plants sent to
me by Peg Stewart, a knowledgeable and expert gardener, in the hopes it
may be of some use to those of you in No. Cal. who are plagued.
I can only think, we must be lucky compared to those who related tales
of "boar horror" in Spain and France! J

Hi Jan --
Thanks for letting me come to Thursday. I
can't believe that Ellen is still in the class. It was wonderful to see
those long time friends.
Thoughts on deer:
At our house they haven't yet
bothered:
- plectranthus
- lavanders of any kind
- rosemary and other resinous plants
- hydrangeas
- abutilon
- azaleas
- freeway daisies
- artemesias
- iris
- salvias, even the tender leaved ones
- lambs ears
- most succulents
- santolina
- limonium
- phormiums
- geranium incanum, but they love geranium A.T.
Johnson.
- pelargoniums
Sounds like I should quit whining and start
enjoying those plants.
At my house they eat Algerian, but not English,
ivy; citrus, fuschias, camellias, heuchera, agave with soft grey green leaves,
agapantha flowers. Pittosporum they eat right to the ground and roses go
without saying.
See you next week.
Peggy
