Dune moles - our South african equivalent - are very destructive. The most
effective remedy for these is to quietly feed a hose pipe down one of the
mounds, not disturbing the inhabitants, connect it to the exhaust of your
car & leave it running for half an hour.
I mentioned this one to a friend, in front of his 3 young daughters, the
other day. They got terribly upset. He was apparently reading them the '
Wind In The Willows' the night before. These childrens nursery
anthropomorphisms have a lot to answer for.
