I'll try to get something ASAP. My school allows
students to borrow the digital cams, so it should be
easy. It would be interesting to see if this anomaly
keeps cropping up in further leaves (so far the newest
is regular, but the second strange leaf didnt show
until the second or third from the first).

I've seen this species in a friend's yard in San Jose.
Spectacular. If you have viable divisions, i'd like
one :). Although, the colocasia isnt doing too bad,
it's a foot high (not nearly 6 feet like it can reach,
but i am pleased that the leaves are as big as they
are at this size (almost a foot long already). I
generally get a new leaf each week. But, alocasia is
indeed quite pretty and stunning.

One thing i did notice though is that at least here,
colocasia in pots full of water do not grow nearly as
fast as they do "upland" style. I had one in a
holeless pot and while it had a LOT of roots, there
was no corm, and the plant had about three fairly
small leaves (all less than 6 inches). While the
others grown in the sandy soil here were double that
size and vigorously putting out new shoots.
