Moira and I have just been /greatly/ enjoying a book with a "mediterranean" theme and I thought some of you might also find it a pleasure.
"The Ripening Sun" by Patricia Atkinson.
This is an autobiographical account by an Englishwoman who moved to the Dordogne region of France (predominently a wine-producing area) where she has almost single-handedly been running the property and producing wine for the past ten years or so (this is a recent publication).
Very well written and full of fascinating "characters", as well as details of the way in which she manages the vines, and the actual wine production, on her property.
