It is called "Azufaifo" in Spanish. The latin name is Ziziphus jujuba. It is a deciduous small tree to about 20 feet tall. Fruits are edible (they contain lots of sugar). Native to several places throughout the Mediterranean and Arabia.

I saw this small tree in the Garden centre today and they didn't know the latin name. It wasn't labelled and he called it in Spanish 'Alzafeifo?' I cannot find this word in any books or on the net.   The fruits are apparently edible. Its very pretty and I would like to know more about it.  Any ideas?
