Me too! The plague of grasshoppers is upon us here in the inland valleys
of Southern Cailfornia! As Nan said, large adult brown ones and small
immature green ones. Reminds me of the story of my grandmother, who was
a small market farmer in the Anaheim area in the early 1900s. One year
she was plagued with grasshoppers, so sent for "Complete Grasshopper
Control" out of one of those old seed catalogues that sold everything.
What she received back for her hard earned money were two blocks of wood
to clap together!
I think of her as I sneak up on them with my Felcos. Snap!
