Re: Sedum "Autumn Joy"
Dear Planters, 1 August 1999
1) I have heard that Sedum spectabile of which 'Autumn Joy'
was a famous cultival has been moved out of sedum to a new
genus. Can anyone confirm and give us the name?
2) I understand S. telephium has stayed put. Confirmation?
3) WESTERN HILLS for years has insisted that S. s. 'Indian
Chief' is identical to 'Autumn Joy'. Jaen Treesinger has insisted
they are different cvs and that it is 'Indian Chief' which makes
the wonderful color changes. Any responses?
4) There is a new list <<crassu@onelist.com>> devoted to the
entire family of Crassulaceae-succulent, semi-succulent, etc.
It is brand new. If this group of plants particularly interests
you why not join!
5) Right now we are trying to assemble a list of all the genera
still considered crassulaceae. Our focus will be on those hardy
from Sunset Zones 14-24 as well as the arctic members, sempervivum,
jovibarba, orostachys, etc.
We'd love help in getting started and we'd like to assemble a repre-
sentative collection of Hummel's bigeneric hybrids-xSedeveria 'Green
Rose', Victor Reiter's cross of Sedum rubrotinctum x S. acre, etc.
Has anyone in zones 16 or 17 successfully bloomed Sedum suaveolens?
Describe its scent please.
