Dear Medit-Planters
A young man of this city (Adelaide) and known to me has advanced horticultural certificates and has experience as a gardener and Head Gardener. He has been responsible for a large estate type garden open to the public every day and managed a staff of 5 and a team of 11 volunteers. He would like to extend his experience by working as a volunteer in the USA, with a strong preference for California. He seeks information on likely places, addresses to which he could send his CV. Ideally he would appreciate a bed and board situation, or at least a place to sleep. I assume he would have some financial reserves and his return air-ticket to see him through. In this situation, as a volunteer, would he need work permits, sponsors etc or could he travel simply as a tourist or foreign student?
Any help or ideas I will gladly pass on to him'
Thanks in Advance
