Can't help with the germination or longevity but I can testify to its speed of growth & toughness. I love it but I mistakenly planted it next to my front door before I knew its growth rate and that all parts are covered with a highly irritant bloom that you only have to look at to be covered in - that will teach me to do my homework. It's got to go but I'm hoping to strike a few cuttings so I can replant its clones somewhere more out of the way. I've noticed the same 'bloom' problem with some abutilons.
