We have gorse too, but in very limited amounts in really restricted
areas, so not a great problem.  The Grey squirrels have driven our
native Douglas squirrel out of the urban area, to the hills. We have the
introduced house sparrow, and starling too whichare hard on the native
birds.  One wishes the homesick europeans had known better.
