Re: Anisodontea elegans

Tim,

There's also Anisodontea juliae which is rather hardier than A.
capensis in terms of frost tolerance, but more susceptible to winter
rain. The leaves are grey-green, quite large (for the genus) and
shallow-lobed. Flowers are a beautiful clear pink and up to 7 cms.
(2.5 inches) across. I understand they may be the largest in the
family. I grew this for many years but lost it in March when we had a
week of torrential rain. I'm rather hoping that seedlings will appear
at some stage. A. capensis seeds itself about here and can be a bit
of a nuisance since its 1st year growth is coarse and unruly.
