Ah well, this brings back memories of a near heated argument I was
foolish enough to involve myself with a neighbour some years ago. I
absent mindedly mentioned the Mt Cook Lily (yes it is ravishing) is a
buttercup.
"Can't be - the name says Lily, so Lily it must be" said he ...
"Does it look like a Lily?" says I ...
"Well its white isn't it?" says he ...
This went one for ages until the other chap suddenly rushed off and
came back with small pot of Zantedeschia aethiopica, plonked it down
and said:
" There! I suppose you'll be telling me this isn't a Lily next"
Moira, many thanks for you kind words about the pages - a few more
plants have now opened to remind me that they are also 'favourites'
and so will soon be added to the relevant pages.
