One more thing about tomatoes. Rather than strictly by color (since I
grow tomatoes of various colors), I do the squeeze test to determine
whether
my fruits are ripe or not. It has to give a bit before I pick them. This
test works even with the green zebra tomatoes that stay a yellow/green
when ripe.
by the way, I have learned a lot from the postings to this site. We've
just bought our first house (and first garden) and this site has given me
lots of great garden ideas. Thanks!
